I love the look of these dishes. They look very sturdy but do not feel heavy at all. They came so well packaged that even if the delivery man dropped it 100 times, it would not have broken up the dishes.I wasn't sure about getting these (I got the black set with handles). They looked like they would be cosmetically pleasing for a rustic kitchen but possibly awkward and impractical for actual daily baking and use or just plain useless if they broke easily, weren't food friendly, etc. I was pleasantly surprised by their quality and ability to stand up to daily use although they aren't perfect, hence four stars.These aren't cast iron by any means but in your hand, they have that look and feel of cast iron. They have the heft/weight, and slightly rough surface texture. These will break if you drop them on a real tile floor but that hasn't happened to me yet (and I drop everything) and they have no cracks or visual structural weaknesses so far. They have withstood some knocking around when I am washing them and when I accidentally bang them against something hard and the handles haven't broken off like they would have if they were cheaply made. These feel about like Corningware, maybe a tad thicker and stronger even.These are made in China and I'm a little suspicious of the materials used. I don't like nonstick cookware because of the chemicals used, even in supposedly "natural" alternatives (hint: they aren't much better for you if at all and they aren't natural). The finish on these pieces has a roughness but it still has some nonstick properties as well as the usual paint and finish that comes with most cookware and that can be comprised of many different compounds. I just wish the company was clear on what these are coated in.There are some slight imperfections in the finish but not too bad. Could be better.The small size is small but not so small that it has zero application for meals. The largest size is actually quite large, more so than the online dimensions implied. It's like a lasagna pan.First off - these are WAY smaller than expected.Way, WAY smaller.I don't know if it's because I chose the black set (only set available with handles) or not, but these don't seem to watch the measurement description.The largest one is about 2/3 the size of a typical casserole pan.Also, they don't feel at all like ceramic, they feel metal, and the "nonstick glaze" looks an awful lot like teflon, to me.I guess I should have gotten the handless, colorful set, because clearly that's what the item description is referring to, but I guess I didn't realize a color/handle difference would be a completely different product.The smallest one is so small I have no idea what to do with it besides maybe make a tiny cake for someone I don't really like, or like enough to troll with a tiny, tiny cake. It fits in my palm.Very disappointed.This is a lovely cookware set that reminds me of cast iron. Very durable and heavy. For me personally, a little too heavy, but I won't deduct a star for that just because it's my preference.I'm not sure what I would use the smallest piece for as it is very small. The largest piece is also a little smaller than your average lasagna pan but that isn't an issue.I don't think think these would be easily breakable - if at all. They will probably last a lifetime.This is the bakeware you buy because it looks great online, when it shows up you're a little surprised but don't want to admit to yourself that you don't like it, so you stick it in your cupboard for eternity.I'm afraid to use this cookware. The surface is semi rough, not at all what I would expect from glazed ceramic cookware. I'm quite frankly afraid to use it because I don't know what's in the finish.The corners are very rounded, coming off as almost cartoonish.
